Item Description
A beautifully crafted 19th Century Serpentine form Sideboard with fine chosen and inlaid mahogany. The Sideboard has good size and an elegant tiered form with a top drawer gallery with round celluloid pulls, brass gallery rail with Urn finials, three central drawer drawers with the original brass drop pulls and two wine bottle drawers with faux double drawer fronts each with both a drop pull and a Lion ring pull. All of the drawers are dove-tail constructed and conform to the Serpentine shape. An inlaid Ebony strip in Chevron pattern runs through the faux drawer facades as well as under the three drawers and legs and the whole rests on six tapered legs with peg foot.
Dimensions: 91” wide by 25.75” deep by 58.35” high.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Sensitive restoration was performed in 2017 to replace missing veneer and polish the Sideboard. Various acceptable signs of age include scratches, nicks, old stains that have been ameliorated by the polishing as well as a loose under one drawer and a re-attached similar piece under another drawer. Stable veneer splitting to some of the drawers conform fronts all being mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is elegant and exceptional.
