Item Description
Herend Hungary hand-painted porcelain covered tureen, decorated in the Rothschild Bird (RO) pattern. The tureen features detailed songbirds perched on leafy branches with necklace, surrounded by vibrant butterflies, bees, and insects, all rendered in luminous hand-painted enamels. The vine-formed handles are painted in soft green with applied yellow and pink porcelain roses, while the lid is topped with a sculpted lemon finial and leaves. Both body and lid are finished with Herend’s signature basketweave embossed texture (fish-scale relief) and 24k gold accents along the rims. The underside bears the Herend Hungary blue shield hallmark with crossed paintbrushes, HANDPAINTED inscription, and pattern number 1015/RO.
Dimensions: 10" H x 12 1/2" L x 8" D
Condition: Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The gilding and painted details remain vivid and intact. The interior is clean and glossy, consistent with display use - never used for serving. All factory stamps and painter’s marks clearly legible.
