Vintage “Protectograph” check-writing machine, manufactured by G.W. Todd & Company, Rochester, New York, USA. Patented model with cast iron body in black finish, mounted on a rectangular base. The machine features a rotating numerical dial, operating lever, and adjustment controls, designed to print and protect financial amounts on checks against alteration. Marked with manufacturer’s plaque: “The Protectograph, G.W. Todd & Company, Rochester N.Y. U.S.A.”
