Labeled on verso with the artist, medium, date, and title, denoting the scene as being by the F. Griswold Museum.

Douglas Smith was an American artist known for painting and graphic design. Smith was influenced early on by his mother, an impressionist artist. He studied at San Francisco City College and later the Art Center College of Design and the California Art institute.
