A delightful ceramic inkwell and pen stand, featuring an ovular body on a wide oval pedestal, with a flat top displaying two capped removeable inkwells, four holes for pens, and a central recess for accessories. The stand displays in beautiful teal glaze with gilt accents and floral motifs decorating the sides. Flanked by faux chain handles, and lids capped by pointed finials. Marked on underside.
Condition: Displays well with wear commensurate with age. Light surface scratches, discoloration, and gilt wear. One of the caps has a semi-matte painted finish rather than glazed and has cruder detailing suggesting it was not original to the piece; it is well color-matched and does not significantly detract from appearance. The other cap has a light hairline crack. Both caps have easily removeable spots of putty along the interior rim to secure it to the inkwells.
