Item Description
This wonderful and decorative print depicts an earlier, famous engraved print which depicts the sterns of three British naval ships in the near ground with several other British naval tall ships in the distance.

The decorative image is after an original by John, Boydell, London, 1752. The original a hand colored, copper engraving. The work depicts the victorious British fleet resting in the Bay of Biscay after the Second Battle of Cape Finisterre in October 1747, during the War of the Austrian Succession.
The decorative print is wonderfully matted and framed in a carved and gilt and ebonized wood frame and glazed.
