- Union General James Birdseye McPherson (1828 - 1864)
- Eighteenth President of the United States and Union Lieutenant General, Ulysses S. Grant (1822 - 1885)
- Union General Daniel Sickles (1819 - 1914)
- Union General Joseph Hooker (1814 - 1879), Hooker was a West Pointer that held the name "Fighting Joe"
- Union Lieutenant General Winfield Scott (1786 - 1866)
- Union General Henry Wager Halleck (1815 - 1872)
