Michael Ricker (American, 1940-2006) was an accomplished Colorado based artist with a focus on sculpture. Ricker began creating pewter, collectible sculpture in 1968. Ricker's process involves use of Old English Pewter ingots which are melted down to cast limited edition sculptures and other works of art. By 1991, construction of a new museum, gallery and casting studio had been completed which further enhanced the collectabilty of his limited edition sculptural works of art.
Ricker passed away in 2006, and his brother and sister created the company known as Designs By Ricker where they continue to carry on production of his fabulous work.
These works comes with their official Certificate of Title denoting the works title and series, hallmark number of casting 281, issue price, total castings, date of casting , appraised value, and date of appraisal.
This collection of pewter dolphins are of the "SAN DIEGO DOLPHIN" series and present dolphins in all different types of poses that would naturally occur during swimming. The dolphins are fabulously cast and rest on bases with marvelous details including coral, sea weed and other sea related foliage and rockery.
