A Chinese wucai decorated porcelain bowl, with underglaze blue and overglaze enamels on porcelain. the top side depicts an equestrian with a second figure holding a staff. Both figures are presented in a landscape with details including rockery, flowers and fauna with architectural inclusions including a fence to the lower trim. There are calligraphic figures to the upper half above the figures heads. There is a double underglaze blue band around the interior mouth trim. The underside of the shallow bowl is raised on a short foot ring with a double underglaze blue circle with an apocryphal six character Ming dynasty Chenghua reign mark but later and not of the period.
Provenance: Unconfirmed - The bowl bears a paper gallery label marked MARCHANF / Kangxi 1662 - 1722 / London underfoot, however the gallery in question is spelled Marchant with a T not an F and this provenance is neither confirmed or guaranteed.
Condition
There is gentle wear to the foot ring with slight scuffs and very minor wear and very gentle wear to the finish atop but overall presents well.
