Lidded Chinese porcelain tureen of rounded form, decorated in a hand-painted palette featuring birds in flight and perched among flowering branches, bamboo, and mountainous landscape elements. The decoration is rendered in black and gray tones with iron-red blossoms, complemented by hand-painted Chinese calligraphy and red seal marks to the exterior and lid. The tureen is fitted with metal-mounted side handles, a metal rim, and a domed lid topped with a metal finial. The interior is plain glazed white.
