Item Description
Gorgeous and large Chinese Export Mandarin palette porcelain mug. With a slightly larger foot and mouth rim the cylindrical body has a moulded and glazed handle. The mug has a wonderful central reserve with figural decoration within an architectural setting, complete with pagodas. The reserve is surrounded by a wonderfully painted diaper ground with a band of keyfret decoration to the mouth rim and cell decoration to the foot rim.

Provenance: Purchased at Christie's Auction House on January 20, 1995 for $747.50
Condition: There is an old restoration which was to the upper part of the mug. When blacklighted you can see the newer glazed interior. The restoration is high quality as it's difficult to find on the exterior with only very minor nics and losses to the finished decoration. The mug presents magnificently.
