Platinum antique watch. This stunning antique platinum and diamond hand wound mechanical Swiss watch was made by C.H.Meylan*, circa 1910's, and consists of a tank style diamond encrusted case with a tortue shaped silvered dial with black arabic numerals. Attached to the case is an extremely fine, wide platinum mesh bracelet, with an adjustable diamond set clasp. The total weight for the diamonds is approximately 0.79 TCW, and the diamonds are both bezel and prong set, with milgrained edging.
*C.H. Meylan was one of the finest movement makers in the world and one of the four historical families founding fine watchmaking: in the middle of the 18th century, Samuel Olivier Meylan and Abraham-Samuel Meylan were introduced to the watchmaking arts in Rolle and Fleurier. Back in Vallée de Joux, Samuel-Olivier Meylan designs and manufactures pocket watches equipped with movements and music discs and, naturally, the passion for movement becomes a family tradition.
