Item Description
Bestlite BL1 table lamp, designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930. It is a renowned piece of British design history with strong influences from the Bauhaus movement and has been in continuous production since its creation.
The lamp was originally manufactured by Best & Lloyd, Robert Dudley Best's family's lighting manufacturing company in Birmingham, England. The lamp features a brass body and a powder-coated metal shade and base in green and brass combination seen here. The lamp with adjustable gooseneck that slides up and down. The shade is also adjustable.
Dimensions: 20 1/2" H (lowest position), 6 1/2" shade, 8" W base, 19 1/2" W from side of base to edge of shade.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various acceptable signs of age and use include some oxidation/rust to top of brass arm as shown, some dulling to the shade consistent with age, tested and is in good working condition with a fine presentation.
