Item Description
Bev Doolittle (American, 1947-) Lithograph “The Sentinel” Ed 7189/35000 based of original painting in 1990, limited edition released 1991. The composition was inspired by the artist’s recollection of a storm at the location Lodge Grass, on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana. As per the documentation en verso, a golden sunrise produces a spectacular rainbow, and she uses it as a symbol for protection that encompasses the entire Indian camp. Native American man depicted near the left end of the rainbow upon his horse with the village in the distance leading the eye to the snowy Montana mountains. Rocky path in the foreground camouflages the head of a wolf. Signed from original painting bottom left as well as signed and numbered in pencil. Framed beneath glass in a handsome wood frame.
Condition: In good overall condition with expected signs of age including slight wave to paper minor blemishes to frame but overall good condition. The sleeve included in back with documentation has some wear.
