Item Description
A beautiful set of black lacquered boxes with mother of pearl inlays, featuring floral designs on the lids of six rectangular boxes with rounded beveled edges. The boxes are contained in a carved case with a convex lid bisected by a bar handle, atop a rounded bottom in complimenting form. The lid exterior displays birds around a blooming tree, with raised roots and nacre flowers, while the interior of the lid displays two simple floral stems similar to the boxes within.
Condition: With expected wear commensurate with age. Lacquer wear and finish loss, especially with flaking on the underside of the case. Scattered scuffs and nicks around the edges. One box has a repaired lid that does not close. Case has a keyhole; key not included.
