A vintage Avner Kochavi (Israeli, 20th C.) etched copper depiction of the idyllic life at the "Meir Shfeya" youth village in the mid 20th C. Name of the village appears at top right in Hebrew, above images of kibbutz life including a Sabra tractor driver, large grapes, dancing youth, musical instruments, children playing soccer, trees, and the communal buildings. Hebrew excerpt at lower right from a 1933 folk song speaking of a small village on a flowering hill with far reaching fields, orchards, and gardens. Signed at lower left border, and on verso a Hebrew description of the scene, Meir Shfeya youth village, part of the Young Hadassah Movement, and a biblical verse from Isaiah. Mounted in a period wooden frame.
Overall good condition with expected signs of age and use to include light frame rubbing, light scuffs to frame, and a wonderful light patina that only adds to the vintage character.
19" h. x 14.75" w. oss 12.1" h. x 8" w.
