Attributed to Bernard Henke (American, 1878-1949) oil on board circa 1987 depicting the Dutch Delftsche Poort, with the stone gray landmark contrasting orange buildings behind, along a stone plaza flanking a canal. Bright green fields and a windmill can be seen in the background, against a clouded sky. Signed and dated lower right. Displayed in a contemporary dark brown frame with stippled borders and an intentionally distressed design.
Condition: In overall good condition with scattered craquelure and minor paint loss. Vertical scratches at the top right sky. A horizontal crack middle left with surrounding paint loss. Minor varnish yellowing.
