Item Description
A lovely collection of silver, including three various serving spoons, a small ladle, a tablespoon, two teaspoons, and two demitasse or cellar spoons. Includes a shell-shaped snuff bottle with a purple glass conical finial, and a glass perfume bottle encased in an ornately decorated silver exterior with depictions of birds and flowers surrounded by fine pierced borders, hanging from a brooch pin. Makers include Manchester Silver Co, William Hair Haseler, Thorvald Marthinsen, and Ormex, among others.
Marks:
Demitasse/cellar spoons marked "NM 830S" with Swedish duty marks and Thorvald Marthinsen hallmark.
Small Ladle marked Sterling with Manchester Silver Co. hallmark.
George VI & Queen Elizabeth Enameled spoon marked "WHH" with English sterling marks.
Fiddle handle serving spoon marked with a lion, 875, JR.
Snuff bottle marked Sterling Ormex.
The remaining pieces are unmarked or marked inconclusively, and tested as follows:
