Ariane R. Berman is an American artist born in 1937, and resides in New York. As an artist, Berman focused her attention and creative content into painting and printmaking. Interestingly, her works have not been as heavily circulated as many of her artistic peers working in a similar style have been throughout the 20th century. Berman’s unique style is intrinsically modern, blending bold colors and form juxtaposing realism and abstraction. Figures in her works are often devoid of facial features, but placed in realistic environments, thus drawing the viewers gaze to the overall image as of form and color in the modern aesthetic.
The current work has a modern, pop aesthetic. Depicting a figure reclining on a red sofa or chaise, in lavender hued pants juxtaposed with a fantastic striped background.
Pencil signed, titled and marked 'A.P.' to lower trim.
Presented unframed.
There are rough trim edges to the top and bottom as they were not cleanly cut. There is a small tear to the lower right trim and negligible flap of paper to the lower trim. The print presents well overall.
