Item Description
Antique wooden hat mold, also commonly referred to as a hat block or millinery form. Used by milliners (hat makers), this form was an essential tool for shaping felt or straw into various hat styles. This specific model shown features a two-part design, consisting of a rounded crown and a separate brim piece, secured with a leather band. Incised 465 and 7 1/4. The mold presented on a turned standard and mounted on a tiered plinth base.
Dimensions: 11 1/2" W, 9" D, 15" H
Condition: the standard is slightly loose on the plinth, some deterioration to leather, stable age cracks.
