Item Description
Ornithologist and artist John Gould (British b.1804 - d.1881) in collaboration with H. C. (Henry Constantine) Richter produced hand colored engravings for the guide book "Birds of Great Britain" which was published from 1862 until 1873. Depicted are Racket-tail (Discura Longicauda) and White Breasted Emerald (Thaumatias Candidas). Each work is matted in pale blue, and framed behind glass in painted wood frames. Each piece has the correlating information page from the book affixed to verso.

Condition
There is fading to the mats, some light foxing is present on one piece, some tears to paper backing. The pieces were not examined out of the frames.
