Item Description
Early 20th Century Copper Switch Board once used in Industrial settings, power stations and buildings to manually connect or disconnect electrical circuits. This board has five three triple-pole,, three blade switches with insulated handles. Very heavy, the Switches are mounted on a Black Composite or Composite Stone backing used as protection against arcing. All of the Switches are attached to the board with large bolt and nuts in keeping with the Industrial ethic. With attached Copper Plates denoting, “Winchester Hall Poer” and another denoting, “Mason” and ,believed to have been originally used at the College facility in West Haven, Connecticut founded in 1920 and an adjunct of the University of New Haven. While single and sometimes double Knife Switches are intermittently available, a Triple Switch Board this size is an Industrial Antique rarely seen.
Dimensions: 24” wide by 5” deep by 44” high.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Original condition includes marks and expected appropriate wear to the backing board with a circled “X” as well as a front corner chip to the upper left side corner being mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is pure Industrial.
