An antique enhanced print on panel diminutive painting which depicts an interior genre scene. The painting presents a group of working class men and women depicted seated around a provincial style table in a rustically decorated cabin.
The artist has magnificently painted fine details including gilt lacework to the womans dress, and fantastic play of light and shadow in the draped clothing attire best evidenced when examining the sleeves of the man in the front with his back turned towards the viewer.
Unsigned.
Presented in a wonderfully carved and gilt finished rococo style frame with scrolling plumes seen in high relief.
Condition: There is heavy wear to the frame with losses and wear with older restorations and differing hues of gilt finish with splits to the seams.
There is some wear to the painting with scuffs and scratches to the areas around the trim where the painting meets the frame. Despite wear the painting presents wonderfully overall.
