Item Description
Antique Chinese, Qing Dyn. 19th century, Amber snuff bottle. The bottle is in spade form, with elegant lines and slender form with a flattened foot affording it the ability to stand on it's own. The natural Amber bottle has one side that is fabulously transparent with a glistening Amber hue, while the opposite side also has that wonderful transparency with the exception of a natural, darker inclusion towards the shoulder and is certainly inherent to the natural Amber.
The bottle is fit with a hard stone top, fit with a collar and affixed to a carved cork stopper.
There are a series of numbers, some of which are worn, written on the underfoot of the bottle and may possibly be museum de-accession marks or an older collection inventory number.
This bottle is worthy of entrance into a sizable, well established snuff bottle collection or a wonderful way to begin a budding collection.

Condition: There are some tool or carved marks to the mouth rim which when the cap is on are not noticeable, there is light wear to the wonderful finish of the bottle with very minor surface abrasions but surely commensurate with age and handling. The bottle also has its cork but there is no spoon present, however one could easily insert a spoon which can easily be purchased online.
