Procured by Colonel Howard Ravencroft Johnson when stationed in Asia in the 1920's, this stately Chinese wedding cabinet is rich with carvings of a bustling monetary -- wood construction lacquered and hand-painted, full of delicate scrollwork detail extending to the interior cubbies.
The piece originally belonged to Howard R. "Jumpy" Johnson, commander of the U.S. Army's 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, obtained while stationed in China during his early years in the army before WW2.
