Antique brass student lamp. This striking antique oil lamp (not converted) is a bronze student lamp* with a twisted central post, with two arms, each featuring a post with twisted wire pattern. There is a removable central reservoir with the reminder to "close the valve after filling", with a flat top. The lamp also has two round removable three armed frames, which hold the lamp shades. The bronze is also beautifully patinated.
The two complementary shades for the lamp are both by Louis Comfort Tiffany, and are both the damascene pattern, with swirled green tone bodies with gold iridescence, with more pronounced ribbing in shade B, which is damaged (please see notes below).
*Student lamps were designed at the end of the Victorian era, to eliminate shadows and push the light downward for studying purposes. Student lamps were designed around a center post and they also featured oil fonts and shades on one or both sides.

Marks: Not signed but numbered 801 (or 108)
Dimensions: 17 7/8" high x 22 1/4" wide x 6 5/8" diameter at base
Condition: Surface scratches, glass chimneys missing, arm is bent and joint is separated at post
2. Shade A:
Marks: L.C.T. Favrile
Dimensions: 4 1/8" high at center x 7" diameter
Condition: Surface scratches, abrasions, nicks and wear on edges, black mars on surface, splatter on interior of surface
3. Shade B:
Marks: L.C.T. Favrile
Dimensions: 4" high at center x 7" diameter
Condition: Surface scratches, abrasions, nicks and wear on edges, chipped; shade was broken and reglued
