A fantastic 19th century London lap desk now mounted on a later stand. The lap desk is well crafted in warm-toned light brown mahogany with a striking wood grain, showcasing a large square form with a drawer to the side and a hinged lid opening to a slanted writing surface in orange-brown leather. A plaque on the lid interior reads "From CP to her Aunt WM, 1828." The stand is lacquered semi-matte black with a nicely stepped rim around the top and minimally detailed apron on sleek, straight legs.
Condition
Sunned with splits to the mahogany top. Does have both knobs they are both detached but inside drawer. See lot images as they are included in the condition report.
