Antique (100 BC) Viru double chambered vessel with priest in side temple, North Coast Peru.
The double chambered ceramic vessel with a slip glaze technique and geometric bands of alternating configured polka dotted triangles to each ovoid form chamber. The two chambers connected with a central section. A bridge form handle connects both chambers, with a spout to one chamber and a moulded, decorative priest in temple motif to the other chamber.

Condition: There is heavy wear to the painted / glazed finish. One of the chambers, with the spout, has a break and resulting loss of the terra cotta ceramic body. There is a crack which is stable that extends from the loss down halfway towards the foot. The crack extends around the mouth neck and can be seen to the handle. The mouth section and handle were likely broken off and re affixed in an old repair. Despite the wear which is commensurate with handling and age, does present well as a decorative object of antiquity.
