After L. Carvin (French, 1875-1951) Spelter caste German Shepherds, made in France, mounted on a rocky base in opposing gazes while one is looking over the other’s shoulder stretched across tiered rocks, while the other sits with his tail partially in the air, tongue off to one side. Rocky textured base has a dark green-gray hued appearance while the dogs are painted in overall gold brassy hue. Bearing the signature, ‘L. Carvin’ along the side of the base towards the sitting dog’s front paws. Made in France marking along base el verso bottom right shown in last photo.
Condition: In overall good condition with expected signs of age and wear including minor overall finish losses but blends in well to distressed & rustic aesthetic. On the underside to its base is a layer of green paper that is partially peeling off but still well intact.
