Item Description
After Javacheff Christo (German, American, 1935-2020) lithographic print “Wrapped Reichstag, Berlin” (1993) offset in color, was created to raise funds to support the artist’s Wrapped Reichstag project (1986–1994). The project to wrap the German Parliament building was conceived by Christo and his wife Jeanne-Claude in the early 1970s, but was not realized until the 1990s. The structure was wrapped in polypropylene fabric, with 17,060 yards of bright blue rope holding it tight against the 220 tons of steel structure to which the wrapping was attached. One can notice the measurements included as well preliminary sketch, printed handwriting along imagery. Thoughtfully framed in a gray metal frame beneath glass.
Condition: In good overall condition with expected signs of age including some marks to frame, blemishes to paper but does not take away from quality of work.
