After Ferdinand Barbedienne (French, 1810-1892) early 20th century, figure of Genie Adorant, early Hellenistic-style cast male nude (tabletop) sculpture after the archaic sculpture found on the island of Rhodes in ancient Greece, created around 300 BCE featuring a man in a brass finish with his arms raised and head tilted, the leaf covered genitalia in mid step along a square cast base signed el verso and mounted to a squared marble base that has green felt on the underside.
Condition: With expected signs of age and wear including light loss to corners of base but hardly noticeable. Patina to sculpture but adds to the aesthetic of this fabulous piece.
