A classic Wooton desk with all the elaborate interior compartments and hinged writing surface. The top with a 3/4 brass gallery over the double doors with curved carved panels on the top and recessed arched panels with incised foliate decoration below. The door sides have incised foliate decoration and open to a multitude of slots and cubby holes, a door on the left, and drawers in the center below the hinged leather topped writing surface. The latter with two metal swivel supports that open automatically. More drawers and slots above the writing surface. Raised on a carved wood base with incised decoration on casters. The metal mounts with foliate motifs. The sides of the desk with panels carved in relief.

36" W x 29" D x 60" H
Condition: some wear to the front lower door surfaces and the base, stained leather and worn banding, tarnished metal, the hinged supports for the writing surface open but do not stay in place as they should due to worn mechanisms. Overall a wonderful antique desk.
