Item Description
A 19th century carved oak Jacobean style center hall chair with a caned back rest, featuring an intricately carved and barley twist frame throughout which displays stunning detail and form, leading down to a gold upholstered cushion enforced by nail-head trim, displaying lovely floral motif and scrolling garland patterns. Raised on barley twist and block feet with H-stretcher and figural carved skirt featuring two putti flanking an urn.
Condition: Overall in good condition with expected signs of use given its age, including some scattered scratches and chips to the finish, some checking, none of which detract from the overall presentation of the piece but only add to the character.
