Item Description
A late Ming Dynasty bronze Burmese figure of the Buddha in a seated in lotus position and Earth Witness Mudra.
Circa 16th / 17th century.
Purchased from Vallin Galleries in 1982 for $10,000. Receipt will be included.
Dimensions: 19 1/2"W, 13"D and 38"H
Condition: Rust, discolorations, oxidation and wear including loss of gilt finish consistent with age. The left hand which crosses horizontally just above the Buddha's knees have been lost. The left hand of the Buddha is missing a digit to each of its fingers and thumb. Overall the Buddha is stunning and it's wear illuminates its great age.
