19th century commode, walnut with contrasting shell, scroll and floral form inlaid veneer, top with long narrow drawer over two tambour doors that slide open to reveal a large storage compartment, lower portion with flip top and large drawer that pulls out to reveal chamber pot, circular wooden cover that lifts off revealing a white porcelain chamber pot with an indistinct impressed maker's mark on the underside, supported on four fluted spade legs each ending in bakelite castors, expected signs of use and wear including a jammed left tambour drawer, some scattered checking, 30 1/4" h. x 21 3/4" w. x 18 1/4" d.
