Item Description
A delightful 19th century campaign writing box in warm medium brown mahogany, accented with brass inlays on the exterior. The box opens to reveal a purple velvet writing surface over two spacious storage compartments, with pen and accessory storage along the right. The velvet is beautifully tooled around the edges with foliate vining patterns.
Condition: Displays well with expected wear commensurate with age, including surface scratches, scuffs, nicks, finish wear, fading and discoloration. The left writing surface has wear to the velvet along the hinge, and has become wedged into the storage compartment below. The box does not include a key.
