Item Description
19th Century Federal style tambour desk secretary one part over chest of drawers with a rectangular top cabinet of sliding tambour doors that open to reveal a fitted interior consisting of a pair of drawers flanking a central over seven pigeon holes with a drop front desk with a brown velvet top resting on slide out arm supports detailed with inlay along the sides. Inlay is repeated along the top edge, chest top edge and base as well as along the tapered legs. Set of three graduated drawers of flamed mahogany are accented with Hepplewhite style brass hardware as well as escutcheons. Does not include a key.
Condition: In overall good condition consistent with age and wear including minor loss of veneer to top (1 3/4”l), and light surface marks as well as some dust and hair to felt top of desk but does not detract from the aesthetic of this fantastic piece. Additional wood pieces found within drawers, BRG staff cannot confirm if part of the desk.
