With four long graduated drawers and patinated brass bales with a fine eagle motif. The eagle with inscribed ribbon in its beak and holding arrows and olive branches in its talons, framed by stars above. A beautifully carved shaped skirt in one piece with the square splayed legs and serpentine on the sides. The back legs attached to the back. Fine string inlays along the top and skirt edges. Lacking a key for the brass keyholes.

Condition: alligatored surfaces overall, repairs to all feet, worn drawer fronts, cracks to the top with some spots, open joinrery along the right edge with a crack
overall an interesting, good looking chest
