1943 German Army public post during the occupation of Paris, France announcing that German officers are not to occupy the listed apartment. Signed by a Major in the lower right and stamped with the Third Reich seal. On the verso, various images of 1939 German battles and symbology pasted to the backing. Mounted behind glass in a simple black painted frame. Posted under the supervision of the Kommandant von Gross-Paris, who is chiefly remembered for his role as the last commander of Nazi-occupied Paris in 1944, when he disobeyed Adolf Hitler's orders to level the city, but instead surrendered it to Free French forces.
Expected signs of use including creasing and toning to paper.
