Aladdin Continental Art Co. Nubian blackamoor chalkware lamps. A pair of exquisite chalkware lamps mint, red, yellow, and black color schemes and well-patterned rectangular bases. Black painted, egg shaped, wood finials. Female lamp (red shirt) is marked "Van Cleef" at back of base. Comes with very alluring red, green, and white patterned lamp shades. Circa 1946. Bid with purpose on this distinct pair!
Dimensions: 6 1/2" W (width of base) x 30" H (top of finial, when attached) x 5" D (depth of base)
Condition: Both lights function as they should. Bulb of female (red shirt lamp) is secure but a tad loose from the socket. The smaller, female lamp, is a bit more sturdy than the male (the larger lamp is will stand fine, but favors one side). Two clicks to turn on lamps. Paint quality of both pieces is very good with slight chipping and scuffing around the rectangular bases. Sculpture portions are quite detailed and aesthetically pleasing. Wood finial tips have a few small scratches and blemishes. Awesome pieces of décor that are ready to be flaunted!
