The Stoddard Library set published by Geo. L. Shuman & Co. in 1910 (MCMX) is a classic 12-volume collection of literary works compiled by John L. Stoddard. Often marketed as "A Thousand Hours of Entertainment with the World's Great Writers," this set is a notable example of early 20th-century anthology publishing.
The volumes are an alphabetical collection of poetry and prose from famous writers, including Aesop, Dickens, Emerson, Poe, Shakespeare, and many others. Illustrations: Each volume typically includes color plates protected by tissue paper, as well as black-and-white illustrations.
