18th century Windsor chair, likely Connecticut, with early 19th century candlestand. 18th century Windsor chair with oblong spindled back leading down to a shaped a molded seat raised on splayed tapering and turned legs with H-stretcher support. In addition to an early 19th century candlestand having a circular top over a turned vasiform standard and raised on a serpentine tripod base.
Condition: With expected signs of use, chair with past repairs and alterations most notable a check stabilizing support affixed to beneath the seat. Ink inscription to bottom of seat. Both with wear to stained finishes, sunfading and scratches.
Candlestand measures 27" h. x 18" diam.
Chair measures 37 1/2" h. x 19 1/2" w. x 21" d.
