Item Description
1897 Bausch & Lomb compound microscope No. 59958 (with Case) in 2-tone with brass details along the black base accompanied with three objectives, 1/6, 2/3, 1/12 along with their cases which are stored in the slide out drawers within original cabinet. Serial number is marked near the base. Patent pending Feb. 16, 1897 marked along the focus. The maker's logo is inscribed along the objective, objective holder, and along the base as well as the covers for the objectives. Also supplied is two eyepieces, marked 1 and 2, and a collecting mirror lens also marked by the maker. Stored safely within a vertically oriented wooden box with a silver toned handle.

Condition: With expected signs of age and wear including general surface marks. The hinged door of the case does stay shut but might stay slightly ajar. Mirror is in great condition. Some light loss of enamel along the frame but very subtle. It tilts slightly and can be rotated. The collecting mirror lens is loosely stored within the case. Might have been held on the side as shown in last photo. Unknown intention for this area.
