At Black Rock Galleries (BRG), we believe that the search for fine antiques and vintage furniture, decor, and art should be fun and affordable. We also believe that the approach to selling our client’s belongings should be filled with compassion, discretion, professionalism, and honesty.
This all stems from BRG’s founders, Grant Panarese and Christie Spooner, set out on their own, after almost 20 years in the antiques, auction and consignment arena, to create a one-stop enterprise based upon knowledge, honesty, integrity and the belief that fine antiques and home decor should not be cost prohibitive. What began in 2010 as Bridgeport Salvage Company in the Mill Hill section of Bridgeport quickly grew into a unique business offering a consignment shop, full auction and estate sale services and expert appraisals. By 2012, growth pushed them to a new 50,000 square feet showroom and a new name, Black Rock Galleries. With BRG's house-built online auction and shopping platform, the business continues to grow exponentially and is New England's preeminent estate liquidation and auction house servicing mid- to luxury-tier valued estates.
Black Rock Galleries’ headquarters and flagship luxury consignment showroom, Black Rock Interiors, is located at 1720 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport, CT. Black Rock Interiors features a fresh and changing inventory of quality furnishings, antiques, fine and decorative art, and more, making BRG the source for every taste, budget and style.

Clearing House Estate Sales
Black Rock Galleries discovered a much neglected niche estates market in lower- to mid-tier valued estates. With the advent of BRG’s online auction platform, servicing this particular market was now feasible, and so BRG created Clearing House Estate Sales (CHES) which handles downsizing and estates with the same care, sensitivity and professionalism that clients find under the BRG brand.
CHES believes it is their responsibility to simplify the estate sale process and maximize financial returns for their clients. Unlike BRG, Clearing House Estate Sales operates solely in an online auction format and does not offer a consignment center nor formal appraisal. Their expanded audience and online bidding enthusiasm generates increased sale proceeds (30-35%) over traditional estate sale formats.

AuctionNinja is the natural by-product of BRG’s online auction platform development. During development of BRG’s platform, managing partners, Grant Panarese and Christie Spooner, quickly realized that they could license out a variation of the system to other estate companies. While there are other online auction platforms, none of them were designed and created by estate professionals who understand the nuances of the estates industry. AuctionNinja is the solution for those in the estate sale industry who are looking to bring their business online and into the 21st century.
