Robert Le Berger (French, 1905-1972) "Temps Gris D'arriet Au Pont Des Arts" impressionist oil on canvas painted depicting a landscape along the Seine. The painting depicts a river landscape where the viewer is positioned inside a stone archway gazing at the river bank with the Seine running through the central middle ground. An architectural building with dome can be seen in the distance with an arched bridge spanning the river and urban architecture in the distance. Le Berger has fantastically imbued the work with motion and a sense of three dimensionality with impasto with short brushstrokes. Signed lower right. Additionally signed, titled, and dated on verso to canvas.
Custom framed with a painted liner and carved and paint finished frame.

Robert Le Berger was a French artist known for impressionist paintings of Paris and bucolic country landscapes. He studied at Académie Julian and exhibited across France, Spain, Argentina, and Germany. Le Berger's works are included in the collections of the Musée d'Art Moderne, Prince Francois-Joseph of Liechtenstein, Gina Lollobrigida in Italy, and Tiarko de Lovinfosse in Belgium.

Presents well overall. The canvas is unlined. Very minimal wear to the painted finish. A split to the corner of the frame with some losses of paint finish around the trim.
