About the Artist:
Paul Jean Hugues was a French painter known for impressionist still life and interior painting. He studied under other French artists Fernand Cormon and Henri Royer. Hugues's work was exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon des Tuileries, the former of which he went on to become a secretary for.
