A domed building can be seen in the distance. Playfully the artist has placed a small dog in the center of the image, appearing to gaze off in the distance. Signed lower center.

About the Artist:
Nino Caffe (Italian, 1909 - 1975) was an Italian artist, whom was raised in Northern Italy where he began his studies. Caffe, along with a fellow Italian and artist Basaldella Afro, began exhibiting their works in Milan.
Caffe often included red robed priests and other religious figures into his works, often posed in humorous or unlikely activities common to actions more frequently associated with priests and religious figures. This genre of figural landscapes and imagery likely played as important a part of his works due to his proximity to Rome and the Vatican.

Slight scuffs and marks to the velvet filet and outer liner but overall the painting is in good form and presents well.
