Magnficent antique Russian 84 silver Art Nouveau motif cane, circa 1899 to 1916. This stunning piece features an curved sleeping Art Nouveau styled woman, built integrally into the dark wood of the cane, and decorated with inlaid black enamel leopard's spots and gladiator style bandaging to her legs. Leading into the body of the cane is a handsome silver overlaid lattice patterning, finished with a silver sleeve and banding. The cane is finished by an inlaid oval brown tortoiseshell cartouche, inlaid with a gold monogramming.
The cane was made in Astrakhan, Russia, (near the Caspian Sea), between 1899 and 1916. The maker is unknown, but it was assayed by Anton Vasilijevitch Richter.
Marks: 84 Kokoshnik, Anton Vasilijevitch Richter assay control mark. No gold hallmarking on the monogram due to the delicate nature of the inlay.

Missing ferrule, some tarnish; crazing to tortoiseshell around monogram. Minor expected scratching and nicking and wear is commensurate with age. Good overall estate condition.
