Herend porcelain tureen features a gently lobed body and domed lid, hand-painted with the Rothschild Bird (RO) motif—pairs of vividly detailed birds perched upon flowering branches with necklace, encircled by playful butterflies and insects. The painting is done in rich, naturalistic tones of rust, green, and yellow, accented with delicate shading and fine gilt borders. The tureen’s applied handles are modeled as curling green branches entwined with hand-sculpted pink and yellow roses, while the lemon finial lid adds a playful, lifelike touch. The interior is smooth and glossy, suitable for serving or display. The form rests elegantly balanced on its footed base, the design enhanced by Herend’s signature basketweave relief pattern along the upper body.
