Herend porcelain tea service includes a teapot with lid, six teacups, and six saucers, each hand-painted in the Rothschild Bird (RO) pattern. The design features pairs of colorful birds perched amid leafy branches with necklace, surrounded by delicate butterflies, insects, and small floral details. The teapot lid is adorned with a sculpted rosebud finial with leaves, while the handle and spout are shaded in soft green and accented with 24K gilt details. Each teacup and saucer displays a variation of the bird motif, lending individuality to each piece while maintaining harmony across the set. The forms are lightly lobed and basket-weave molded. Each piece bears the factory’s blue Herend shield mark, inscribed HEREND HUNGARY HANDPAINTED and numbered 1727/RO.
